Clinical trials involving disorders of the Central Nervous System (CNS) present a number of challenges. That’s why BioClinica provides a wealth of domain knowledge utilizing validated scoring methods in centralized image processing and analysis for all necessary modalities and techniques. We have successfully performed a number of studies utilizing precise MRI and CT image segmentation. We have used quantitative MRI parameters for acute stroke trials (perfusion/diffusion mismatch). Our competency extends to Transcranial Doppler used to measure cerebral blood flow velocity, as well as PET imaging employed in the analysis of uptake of neurotransmitters in the study of Alzheimer’s Disease (AD) and Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI).
Modern neuro-imaging techniques like MRI can reveal brain tissue abnormalities resulting from neurodegenerative and vascular diseases such as Multiple Sclerosis (MS) and Stroke. BioClinica has the expertise you can trust for quantitative image analysis in the evaluation of neurology drug therapy and devices.
Initial site qualification, ongoing site Quality Assurance (with phantom scans if required) and the quality of image data collected from the sites all have a key impact on the overall quality of the imaging component of Central Nervous System (CNS) trials. BioClinica offers automated MRI analysis technology to assess quantitative parameters such as brain and hippocampal atrophy, focal and diffuse white matter abnormalities, Diffusion-Weighted Imaging (DWI), Diffusion Tensor Imaging (DTI) and Perfusion Imaging. We perform automated image processing prior to centralized and blinded image review.

We apply our neurology expertise to a variety of services, including:
